Specifications include, but are not limited to: ADA REQUIRMENTS • Removal of existing door and One (1) new door to be installed at 521 West Cedar Street and to comply with the ADA requirements. • Removal of existing set and One (1) Set of doors to be installed at Rawlins Family Recreation Center, 616 Harshman Street and to comply with the ADA requirements. SELLER AND SERVICE REQUIREMENTS • Successful Bidder shall provide one hard copy of the operations manual. WARRANTY • Successful bidder shall provide manufacturer’s warranty information. ADA DOOR SPECIFICATIONS CITY HALL / RAWLINS FAMILY RECREATION CENTER. • Doorways shall have a minimum 32” clear opening with the door open 90 degrees, measured between the face of the door and the opposite stop. • Two Doors in Series the minimum space between two hinged or pivoted doors in a series shall be 48in plus the width of any door swinging into the space. Doors in a series shall swing either in the same direction or away from the space between the doors. • Thresholds – Raised thresholds and floor level changes at the accessible doorway shall be beveled with a slope no greater than 1:2. Thresholds at doorways shall not exceed ½ in height. • Door Hardware - handles, pulls, latches, locks, and other operating devices on accessible doors shall have a shape that is easy to grasp with one hand and does not require tight grasping, tight pinching, or twisting of the wrist to operate. • Lever-operated mechanisms, push-type mechanisms, and U-shaped handles are acceptable designs. Hardware required for accessible door passage shall be mounted no less than 34in and no higher than 48in above the finished floor. • Automated Doors and Power-Assisted Doors- If an automatic door is used, then it shall comply with ANSI/BHMA A156.10-1985. Slowly opening, low powered, automatic doors shall comply with ANSI A156.19-1984. • Minimum Height of 80in. • All construction will comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. • During construction all doors need to be secured able to be locked at the end of the work shift.
