Specifications include, but are not limited to: The scope of the ‘urban forest industries’ selected for inclusion in the analysis will be open for discussion among the project Team and guided by the Contractor. It may include the following: nursery and tree production; nursery and garden supply stores; tree planting, pruning, and removal services; tree health care services; urban forestry consulting services for inventories and management plans; public sector employment including municipal, state and federal governments; non-profit employment by organizations engaged in urban forestry activities. The work on this project can be divided into 6 main parts: 1. Facilitation of discussion and consensus on scope of urban forest industries, methodology for analysis, and report template. 2. Assist the Team and UW Survey Center in developing relevant survey questions to separate contributions specific to urban forest industries from the broader green industries and assess contributions of the urban forest industries in the public sector. 3. Documentation of the methodology and rationale for the selected approach in a written report. 4. Analysis of IMPLAN and other relevant datasets for the Region (20 Northeastern Midwest Area states), and at the state level. 5. Production of reports summarizing the findings for the Region, plus each individual participating state, totaling 17 reports. 6. Presentations – (1 face-to-face and 2 webinars) of the methodology, a mid- project progress report, and a final presentation of results/findings.
