Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Department of Medicine is requesting bids for a 51 Laptop-Based Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) systems for an upcoming research study with spirometry capabilities and one reader station. These systems will be configured at University and shipped to 49 participating sites around the country plus the Data Coordinating Center to be used with their local research subjects for the Precision Interventions for Severe and/or Exacerbation Prone Asthma (PrecISE) Network research study. The equipment will be used by each research center to contribute to the overall study goals: to determine the impact of phenotype-directed inventions on the frequency of asthma exacerbations and to validate the predictive value of monitoring biomarkers assessed at baseline and after treatment. The equipment being bid is required to supplement existing equipment currently in use by Inner City Asthma Consortium (ICAC) at UW and some of the CREW study sites. All equipment bid must be compatible with the existing equipment, which consists of a SentrySuite reader station, a web-based database system, and MS Pneumo spirometry systems.
