Specifications include, but are not limited to: To supply MTS with Engine and Transmission oil sample testing including sample collector kit, mailer and reports. It is the intent of this specification to describe the minimum requirements for an oil analysis service for Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS). The service is to include analysis of both engine and transmission oil. MCTS services an active fleet of four hundred (400) heavy duty diesel buses. Engine oil and filters are changed on a six thousand five hundred (6,500) mile schedule. Transmission fluid and filters are changed approximately every 52,000 miles. MCTS primary use of oil analysis is to determine if conditions are affecting the quality of oil between normal service changes. Examples are contamination, dilution or high metal content. All items or features not specifically mentioned which are necessary or which are regularly furnished in order to provide complete service, shall be furnished by the successful bidder at the bid price and shall conform in quality of material and service to that usually provided by the engineering practice indicated in this specification. Oil Analysis a All engineering services, sample bottles, labels and postage (if necessary) shall be furnished by the bidder at the bid price. The sample bottles shall be 4 oz. in size and shall be the "Taylor" Probalizer II bottle and cap assembly. b The oil analysis shall be provided by the bidder at the bid price. c The bidder shall be required to provide analysis and interpretation of the oil samples to aid in identification of potential problems. d The bidder shall be required to process up to two thousand seven hundred fifty (2750) oil samples, maximum, in the one (l) year contract period. An average of two hundred thirty (230) oil samples to be analyzed per month. e The bidder shall run an analysis which shall include a minimum of nine (9) element viewing consisting of: • Aluminum • Lead • Copper • Nickel • Chromium • Silicon • Tin • Sodium
