The scope of the Mill Road MIS Relief Sewer will include the design and construction of approximately 9,000 lineal feet of tunneled 48-inch diameter sewer, approximately 11 manholes constructed at tunneling shaft locations, and various structures. Three of these structures, a separate West and East Diversion structure and a Junction structure, are to be located on the grounds of the Green Tree Road Pump Station at the upstream end of the proposed relief sewer. The scope of this project also includes an evaluation of PS0502 with the Mill Road MIS Relief Sewer as designed completed and online. If a detailed hydraulic analysis indicates that removing PS0502 from service will not significantly elevate hydraulic grade lines (HGLs) in any existing MMSD sewer the project will incorporate pump station removal into the final design. The pump station must remain in operation during construction until the Mill Road MIS Relief Sewer reaches substantial completion.
