Specifications include, but are not limited to: CLEARING AND GRUBBING (0.34 AC.) MOBILIZATION UNCLASSIFIED EXCAVATION FABRIC FOR SEPARATION ROCK BORROW EXCAVATION ASPHALT MATERIAL The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) proposes to replace the existing bridge carrying US 219 over Windy Run in Randolph County. The existing two span bridge will be replaced on the existing alignment using staged construction. The existing pier will be removed to a depth of 1' below the existing streambed and the void will be backfilled with rock. Temporary cofferdams will be utilized to facilitate construction. Material placed for the temporary cofferdams will include concrete barriers and clean, coarse, non-erodible rock with 15% or less like fines. All temporary fills will be removed and the areas temporarily impacted due to construction associated with this project will be returned as closely as possible to the original contours. Disturbed areas that are not stabilized by rock rip-rap, scour protection, or other methods as set forth in the Project Plans, shall be seeded and mulched per WVDOH Standard Specifications for Roads and Bridges, 2017 edition and Supplements. Windy Run (WVMT-79) is a naturally reproducing trout stream. The project site falls within the Running Buffalo Clover, Small Whorled Pogonia, Indiana Bat, and Virginia Big-Eared Bat zones. Suitable habitat for Running Buffalo Clover and Small Whorled Pogonia does not exist at the project site. No rock cliffs/out crops or buildings will be removed and clearing of trees with a diameter at breast height of 5" or greater will be limited to November 15ththrough March 31st. The project has been given a "not likely to adversely affect" determination by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. Although the project falls within the Proclamation Boundaries of the Monongahela National Forest it is not on forested owned land.
