Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project involves the repair of historic sidewalk vault ceilings, constructed in 1924 with reinforced concrete, and covering approximately 900 square feet. The existing concrete ceilings will be removed, as well as the existing sidewalks. New concrete vault ceilings will be installed, and covered with a new waterproofing membrane and drainage layer. A new concrete wearing slab will be installed above this. New concrete sidewalks will be installed that align with the top surface of the new wearing slab. Miscellaneous electrical, heating, and plumbing system components, which are located within the vaults, are to be removed prior to removing the concrete vault ceilings. The project will be broken into two phases of work, such that the main entrance to City Hall is accessible to the public at all normal working hours. The vehicle lane closest to City Hall will be closed for the duration of the project.
