Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. At Pruntytown Correctional Center and Jail, there was a storm in April of 2016 that damaged the roofs on multiple buildings. The contractor must remove all of the existing roof system to expose the existing decking. The contractor must make any deck repairs per square foot cost that will also be submitted with the bid proposal price. On flat areas, the contractor must install one layer of 2” Polyiso Insulation and a .060 fully adhered roof system with 6” seams. On steep slope areas, the contractor must install an architectural shingle per manufacturer recommendations to include a 20-year water tight warranty from the manufacturer. The shingles must match the style and color of the shingles that are located on the Administrative I building. The roofing contractor shall be fully knowledgeable of all requirements of the contract documents and shall make themselves aware of all job site conditions that will affect their work. The following buildings and building information that are included in this project are listed below: 1. Administrative I building: a. The existing roof is of type shingled. b. The building roof is approximately 85 feet by 170 feet (exterior building measurement). 2. Dining hall building: a. The existing roof is of types shingled and rubber membrane. b. On the right-side area, the roof is approximately 53 feet by 23 feet multiplied by 2. c. On the center area, the roof is approximately 108 feet by 20 feet multiplied by 2. b. On the left side area, the roof is approximately 53 feet by 23 feet multiplied by 2. 3. Medical building: a. The existing roof is of types shingled and rubber membrane. b. The building roof is approximately 80 feet by 100 feet (exterior building measurement). 4. Arts and crafts buildings #1: a. The existing roof is of type shingled. b. The building roof flat area is approximately 40 feet by 16 feet. c. The building roof peak is approximately 40 feet by 15 feet multiplied by 2. 5. Arts and crafts building #2: a. The existing roof is of type shingled. b. The building roof is approximately 44 feet by 15 feet multiplied by 2. 6. Building #20 education: a. The existing roof is of type shingled. b. The building roof is approximately 42 feet by 14 feet multiplied by 2. 7. Building #20 weight pavilion: a. The existing roof is of type shingled. b. The building roof is approximately 26 feet by 14 feet multiplied by 1. General a. All components of the specified roofing system shall be products of the manufacturer or accepted by Manufacturer as compatible. b. Unless otherwise approved by the specifier and accepted by the membrane manufacturer, all products (including insulation, fasteners, fastening plates and edgings) must be manufactured and supplied by the roofing system manufacturer and covered by the warranty. 2. Membrane a. Furnish .060-inch thick non-reinforced EPDM (Ethylene, Propylene, Diene Terpolymer) in the largest sheet possible. The membrane shall conform to the minimum physical properties of ASTM D4637. When a 10-foot wide membrane is to be used, the membrane shall be manufactured in a single panel with no factory splices to reduce splice intersections. Sure-Seal .060” thick nonreinforced membrane is available with pre-applied splice tape. 3. Insulation/underlayment a. When applicable, insulation shall be installed in multiple layers. The first and second layer of insulation shall be mechanically fastened or adhered to the substrate in accordance with the manufacturer's published specifications. b. Insulation shall be 2.0” Polyiso Insulation installed in one layer with tapered Polyiso at 1/8” per foot slope and ½” minimum over base layer of insulation as supplied the roofing system manufacturer. Minimum R-value required is (R-15.1).
