Specifications include, but are not limited to: Grubbing, remove and dispose of existing dirt pile and construction debris located on property owned by the State of West Virginia at the Capitol Complex. Regrade property to match existing adjacent contours. Install two inches of straw to cover excavated areas. Remove and dispose of approximately 60 yards of dirt from the General Services grounds lot (adjacent to the work area). Excavate to subgrade elevations regardless of the character of surface and subsurface conditions encountered. Unclassified excavation materials may include rock, soil materials and obstructions. No changes in the contract sum or time will be authorized for rock excavation or removal of obstructions. Contractor must contact a utility locator service prior to start of work. Uniformly grade areas to a smooth surface, free of irregular surface changes. Comply with compaction requirements and grade to cross sections, lines and elevations indicated. Slope grades to direct water away from buildings and to prevent ponding. Finish subgrades to required elevations, +/- one inch. Protect newly graded areas from traffic, freezing and erosion. Keep free of trash and debris. Remove surplus satisfactory soil and waste materials, including unsatisfactory soil, trash and debris and legally dispose of off owner’s property.
