Specifications include, but are not limited to: The selected organization will develop and implement a work plan to prevent and reduce marijuana use by youth, ages 12-20, within the priority population listed above. Work plans may incorporate tobacco prevention efforts, such as preventing and reducing the use of e-cigarettes/vaping, as they align with marijuana use. Applications that focus only on tobacco prevention and control will not be accepted. Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to plan and conduct the following activities within the priority population they intend to serve: Identify youth substance use/marijuana prevention needs within their population. Implement effective substance abuse strategies and proven prevention approaches to: Reduce youth access to and availability of marijuana and vaping products. Increase student reports of parent, caregiver, or other influential adult engagement in youth marijuana prevention. Educate key leaders and decision-makers on how marijuana use/vaping impacts the priority population. Increase the perception of harm of marijuana use among youth. Increase support for marijuana, tobacco-use, and vaping/e-cigarette laws and prevention norms.
