Specifications include, but are not limited to: The design, manufacturing and installation of the assembly and connections to hang the individual art compositions. The drawings included in the bid package, ‘Concourse D Annex – Installation of the Four Seasons Glass Art’ show work that is done by the owner (Port) which includes the structural system connected to the roof structural system, the concrete ballast pad and the glass guardrail at the base of each piece. In the documents ‘others’ is the Contractor/ art installer that will be designing, fabricating and installing the art. This work by others include the fabrication and hanging the structural system a ‘steel support plate’ or ‘cloud’ and the ‘base plate’ secured to the concrete ballast pad. The Contractor shall also design, fabricate and install the suspended cables and art secured to the cables from the ‘steel support plate’ to the ‘base plate’. The ‘Four Seasons’ art consists of four separate blown glass compositions reflecting Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Each composition varies in number of glass pieces ranging from 14 to 30 separate pieces, hung separately of varying shapes and sizes, totaling 77 pieces in all.
