Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. Contractor shall provide after-hours emergency veterinary services seven (7) days per week from 5:00 pm until 9:00 am. b. Contractor will provide after-hours emergency veterinary services 365 days per year. c. EVC facilities must be within or a convenient distance from the Vancouver metro area. d. EVC facilities shall be kept secure. e. Contractor must employ licensed veterinarians for the purpose of providing emergency medical care to stray animals in distress. Emergency care shall consist of stabilization, pain management, wound care, and humane euthanasia. f. Animals will be treated with care and respect, and provided a sanitary, comfortable and healthy environment. The health and welfare of the animals is a foremost consideration. g. The contractor will develop and follow a clear set of protocols regarding admission and intake procedures, care and welfare of animals, employee conduct, and hospital operations. h. Employees will have training or experience appropriate to their positions.
