Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. C&D loads delivered to the King County transfer station in dump vehicles will be prescreened for recycled materials content. Those loads that contain more than 20% of materials banned from landfill disposal based on visual inspection (uncoated/untreated wood, metal, cardboard, new gypsum board, and asphalt/brick/concrete) will be diverted to the Contractor(s). Loads containing less than 20% of these materials will be sent directly to disposal by the transfer station(s). b. The Contractor(s) providing Processing and Marketing services of the materials described above shall be responsible for the proper handling of materials and of any regulated or hazardous substances contained in the materials delivered to the Contractor. Any hazardous waste shall be removed and disposed in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws/regulations.
