Specifications include, but are not limited to: Improve water quality in the Totem Lake and Juanita Creek basins through the installation of Infiltration facility and associated water quality treatment in 132nd Square Park in the city of Kirkland. This project will provide treatment for total suspended solids (TSS) and will also reduce flows to Juanita Creek by increasing stormwater infiltration and providing stormwater detention. This project will design and construct a retrofit stormwater facility in 132nd Square Park, an existing public park, within the Juanita Creek Basin. This facility will provide water quality treatment, flow control, and infiltration of stormwater from approximately 48 acres of upstream developed area, which is largely residential. The project will maximize treatment and detention of stormwater while maintaining existing park uses. The 132nd Square Park Retrofit Facility will be a combination of infiltration facility and water quality facility. Treated outflows from the water quality facility will be directed into infiltration facility, and flows exceeding the capacity of the infiltration facility will be directed back to the city’s storm system. The project also include design of park improvements at 132nd Square Park. Some of the park improvements include synthetic turf field, lighting and associated flow control and water quality.
