Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.1Trail maintenance clearing limits are to be 8 feet wide by 10 feet high. 1.2Maintain (cut) herbaceous vegetation beyond the fill and back slope so that vegetation will not drape over the trail or 12”, whichever is greater. 1.3Remove all limbs of shrubs and trees that extend across or into the clearing limits. Saw or cut limbs flush with the tree trunk. Make cuts in a manner that will not tear or strip bark from the trees. 1.4Cut and remove from the clearing limits all woody plants exceeding 12" in height. The maximum size material to be cut under this specification is 4" in diameter when measured at a height of 6" above the ground on the uphill side of the stump. 1.5Cut all brush and small, woody plants as near flush to the ground surface as possible. When impractical to cut plants flush, the maximum stem length shall be 2".
