Specifications include, but are not limited to: Firms to provide consulting services to develop an IT Cloud Strategy and Playbook, and optionally provide on-call advice as specific needs arise. The engagement shall emphasize user-oriented enterprise software applications (Software as a Service), but may include infrastructure (Infrastructure as a Service) and development platform (Platform as a Service) topics. The Cloud strategy and plan should align with the IT Division strategy, which focuses on the following topics: (1) Sound and Secure Services: To provide stewardship of Sound Transit’s information and technology assets such that data is protected and appropriate continuity of business operations are in place. (2) Rider Information: To provide effective and relevant information to riders within the Puget Sound region on behalf of partner agencies, thereby providing confidence in transit services and promoting ridership growth. (3) Fare Systems: To provide regional fare systems focused on the delivery of the local payment platforms that meet regional fare collection needs, including ticket vending machine and mobile solutions. (4) IT Service Maturity: To become increasingly capable in providing IT services, to ensure the organization runs effectively and efficiently while providing value. (5) Information Management: To drive efficiencies in how we manage and access data, providing a solid foundation on which to grow future data needs.
