Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.The Bidder/Contractor shall operate yard/wood waste grinding equipment at the Region 2000 Concord Turnpike Regional Landfill on an “on call” basis.2.The designated grinding site shall be open to the Bidder/Contractor from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday but no yard/wood waste grinding shall take place on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas, or New Year’s Day or such other days as mutually agreed upon. 3.Processed materials shall be suitable for use as mulch. “Mulch” means woody waste consisting of stumps, trees, limbs, branches, bark, leaves and other clean yard/wood waste that has undergone size reduction by grinding, shredding, or chipping and is used for landscaping purposes, soil amendment or other horticultural uses and for a bulking agent in composting operations.4.The bidder/Contractor and a representative of the City of Lynchburg shall measure height, length and width of the wood waste stockpile prior to grinding operation and mutually agree in writing on the cubic yards to be processed. Final payment will be based on this agreed upon stockpile measurement, i.e. agreed upon stockpile measurement in cubic yards multiplied by the unit price in contract document equals total amount the City of Lynchburg will be invoiced for the job by Bidder/Contractor.5.The bidder/contractor must provide an estimate of the cubic yards of wood waste and a lump sum price to grind the woodchips generated by the size reduction process shall pass a 6-inch by 6-inch screen or a 2-inch by 2-inch screen on Attachment A.
