Specifications include, but are not limited to: The selected Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and all incidentals required and/or implied to provide complete window restoration services on historically significant structures on an as needed basis at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI). These services include, but are not limited to, the following: • Follow all regulatory OSHA safety guidelines. • Remove the sashes from the openings and take them off site. • Repair, repaint, exterior trim, jam and sill. • Install temporary sashes (provided by Owner). • Remove all exterior paint and glazing. • Remove all glass and old bedding compound. • Restore any damage within historic preservation guidelines. • Re-install glass and install new glazing compound within historic preservation guidelines. • Prime sashes and frames. • Finish paint exterior of sashes and frames. • Install weather-stripping on sash perimeters. • Replace damaged sash cords or chains. • Re-install sashes and assure reduced air leakage. • Return temporary sashes to Owner. • Check re-installed units for smooth operation.
