Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide services as detailed in 2 through 20 for up to 30 hours per week on an as needed basis at DOC Facilities located in the Western Region. A listing of Western Region Facilities can be found at www.vadoc.virginia.gov The Provider shall submit an accounting of hours worked each month to the Western Region Health Care Administrator. The accounting of hours shall include a breakdown of hours worked. The Provider will be paid for only the hours worked up to the required total. Services provided in less than full hour increments shall be invoiced and paid in one-tenth of an hour increments. Lunch breaks shall be unpaid, and time taken must be deducted from the total monthly hours. If hours per week reach 30 and additional hours of service are required, the specific number of additional hours must be approved in writing by the DOC State Medical Director, Dr. Amonette, before services are provided or the Provider will not be paid for said hours. Provide Direct Clinical Oversight and backup coverage for Physicians who provide service in all DOC Western Region Facilities. The maximum number of hours billed per week, and travel time shall not exceed 30 hours per week unless pre-approved by Dr. Amonette, State Medical Director. Provide oversight and peer-review of medical staff coverage at DOC facilities located in the Western Region. This includes the physicians, and physician extenders. This will be done in coordination with the Western Region Healthcare Administrator and the Department’s State Medical Director, Dr. Amonette. Provide at least quarterly quality reviews to assure medical providers are meeting community standards of care. This can be completed by a mutually agreed upon sampling of charts and observation. A standardized method will be used to document these peer-reviews (performance evaluations). Review documentation for both quality and risk management issues. Assist in responding to grievance and/or complaints directed against medical staff. Assist practitioners in responding to litigation from offenders. Perform Peer Reviews for the State Medical Director.
