Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Vegetation will be cleared 4 feet on either side of the trail centerline. All vegetation with a diameter at a point 4 ½ feet above the ground, less than 6 inches in diameter is to be cut flush with the ground. Downed trees are to have a section eight feet wide removed to clear the trail. 2. A clearing height of 10 feet must be maintained along the trail. Tree limbs shall be cut at the stem collar by beginning the cut from the top of the stem collar and making the final cut from the bottom of the limb collar to prevent tearing of the bark. 3. Cut vegetation shall be removed to a distance of at least 10 feet from the trail centerline and laid flat on the ground. 4. The total length of trail requiring clearing on the Cumberland multi-use trail is 28,395 feet (5.37 miles). Trails for clearing are indicated on Map #1 as “off-road”. The Contractor shall have the ability to: A. Perform trail work using hand tools and small mechanized equipment. B.
