Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE (HDPE): Solid Walled, Smooth Lined Pipe & Fittings shall conform to the requirements of AASHTO M326. Pipe shall be solid walled and shall have smooth wall interior and smooth exterior. Pipe supplied shall be manufactured only by companies that have been preapproved and arelisted on the VDOT Materials Division list for HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE (HDPE) PIPEPRODUCERS- (QUALITY ASSURANCE). All pipes shall be manufactured by a VDOT approved manufacturer. For a list of Approved Manufacturers go tohttp://www.virginiadot.org/business/resources/Materials/Approved Lists/Materials_Approved_Lists.pdf 2.Pipes not from a VDOT approved manufacturer shall be replaced by the Contractor at no additional cost to VDOT. In order to be considered responsive to this bid, the manufacturer that provides the Pipe must be a participant in the VDOT Quality Assurance/Quality Control Program (QA/QC).‐see Attachment G.3.Pipes shall be capable of being joined into a continuous length by an interlocking method.:The joints shall not create an increase in the outside diameter of the pipe. The joints must be water-tight with gaskets that are capable of handling pressures up to 25 feet of head pressure meeting the watertight requirements of ASTM D3212 (laboratory pressure tested at 10.8 psi). Gaskets shall be installed by the pipe manufacturer and covered with a removal, protective wrap to ensure the gaskets are free from debris.4.Joint lubricant:Shall be used on the gasket and bell during assembly, and included in the shipment of pipe from the manufacturer, cost shall be inclusive of the linear feet of pipe.
