Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The Pharmacists shall: 1. Provide consulting pharmacy services under the general supervision of a qualified licensed pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Virginia. 2. Be available to consult with the facility Medical Director, residents attending physicians, Pharmacy Director, Nursing Director, and Agency staff for the purpose of consultation on matters relating to the management of care of residents needing Services. 3. Drug Regimen Review (DRR) of each agency resident according to OBRA and SOM guidelines at least once each month and report in writing any irregularities to the agency Administrator, Medical Director, Director of Pharmacy, Director of Nursing, and where appropriate, the individual resident’s physician. 4. Be available if needed to serve on appropriate Agency committees, including quality assurance committee, pharmaceutical services committee, if any, and infection control committee. 5. Consult with Agency administration on program development and any administrative matters pertaining to the functioning of residents requiring services. 6. Comply with all applicable rules, regulations, and standards set forth by CMS. 7. Assist in the development and refinement of policies and procedures for services if requested. 8. Prepare and maintain agency consultant Policy and Procedure Manual applying to Consultant’s activities in the Agency. 9. Medication Management and Medication Regimen Review (MRR) Services: Consultant shall provide Medication Management and Medication Regimen Review (MRR) Services under the general supervision of a qualified licensed Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Virginia who shall be responsible for reviewing all medication orders requesting review and oversight by Agency according to prior approved clinical protocols and CMS SOM guidelines.
