Specifications include, but are not limited to: construction of flood protection, roadway realignment, renovation of an existing city park, and utility replacement and upgrades in and around the neighborhoods of Chesterfield Heights and Grandy Village in Norfolk, VA. The flood protection includes earthen berms, wetland creations, and cast in place concrete flood walls. Utility relocations and upgrades re-route stormwater to two new pump stations. New sanitary sewer and potable water systems will be installed in the Chesterfield neighborhood. Green infrastructure consisting of bioretention swales will be added throughout the neighborhood to improve drainage and aesthetics. The existing Grandy Village Park location behind Chesterfield Academy will be renovated into a modern day play and learning area. A new fishing pier will be provided for the community as well.
