Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall: a. Mow all turf areas for each location on a weekly basis from April 1 through October 31 of the contract year unless otherwise stated herein. b. The TCC Suffolk Site will be mowed weekly and monthly as identified on drawing. Areas A, B, C, and D shall receive full service maintenance as identified herein, excluding turf applications. Area B – English Ivy growing on the exterior walls of the Workforce Development Center shall be trimmed as necessary to prevent it from growing above the window sills of the building. These beds shall be kept weed free. Areas E and F are limited service areas and shall be mowed and cord trimmed only on a monthly basis during the growing season. Tall grass/weeds growing up in parking islands and beds shall be hand pulled on cord trimmed monthly. c. The ODU Higher Education Center shall be mowed weekly and bi-weekly as identified on drawing. d. Mow turf areas on an as-needed basis determined by the growth of grass between November 1 through March 31 of the contract year. e. Ensure a high quality cut utilizing rotary mulching mowers with sharp edges. Mower blades will be set at a height of three (3) inches. Mower height will be measured on a flat paved surface. f. Heavy accumulations of clippings shall be raked and/or bagged and/or double cut and removed from premises by Contractor at no additional cost to the Agency in accordance with Section B.2 below. g. Blade edge all walks, curbs, drives, and amenities concurrently with each mowing. h. Sweep and trim the surrounding areas of all beds, trees, buildings, etc. using a string trimmer concurrently with each mowing. i. Sweep or blow of all debris generated by maintenance operations as part of routine operations. Remove all debris in parking lots and gutters as part of routine operations in accordance to Section B.2 below. j. Police all of the grounds areas prior to the start of the landscape maintenance operations. This work includes clean-up of all debris such as litter, trash, twig, and sticks. The policing of the grounds shall be performed prior to all work to be performed through the entire year, not just in mowing season. k. Rake and remove leaves from premises during the fall and winter months. Leaves shall not be allowed to accumulate any longer than one (1) week. l. Prune all trees as needed during winter month including removal of suckers, low branches, dead or broken branches, and branches blocking walks and drives, and low branches hanging below the height of the existing light fixtures. m. Shear all shrubs on an as-needed basis to maintain a neat and symmetrical appearance. Plant material and shrub growth shall be prevented from growing in front of windows, walkways, and entrance ways.
