Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contractor shall provide transportation, supervision, equipment with experienced operators, diving services, skilled laborers, fuel, hand and power tools, parts, supplies, personal protective equipment, and all incidentals as required for safe and efficient operation in aiding VDOT’s Bridge Crew with bridge maintenance projects. The contractor is required to have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in providing the type of work outlined in this IFB. The contractor’s personnel and equipment shall assist in the maintenance and repair of structures such as bridge piers, caissons, bridge fenders, bridge superstructures and work on the underside of bridge decks and clearance gauges. The work will consist of, but not be limited to, timber, concrete and steel work on bridges, pipe replacement, stone placement, environmental protection work and other types of bridge maintenance projects requiring marine access. All work shall be performed on an as needed basis and under VDOT’s direction and supervision. VDOT may require multiple pieces of equipment and operators to be working simultaneously. All work performed under the resulting contract shall only be performed along with VDOT bridge crewmembers.
