Specifications include, but are not limited to: This service may be subcontracted only upon approval by the County of the chosen subcontractor and assurance that the subcontractor meets the same contractual requirements as the Contractor. • Once the waste is loaded into the trailers, the Contractor assumes all liabilities associated with the waste, transport and discharge ofthe waste at the sanitary landfill. • Sufficient transport vehicles shall be provided to assure that waste is never left on the tipping floor overnight. Reference Appendix 6 - Terms & Conditions for penalties for not meeting this requirement. • A minimum offour (6) transport vehicles shall be provided. Contractor shall be capable of providing additional trailers as required by operations such that no vehicle waits longer than 30 minutes to off-load at the transfer station. • In the case ofinclement weather or such other circumstances which force the closure ofthe Chesapeake Bay Bridge & Tunnel, it shall remain the responsibility ofthe Contractor to provide sufficient transport vehicles as herein outlined. • An on-site tractor (to provide for movement ofthe trailers on site) must be provided by contractor. Please include price for this equipment on the bid document. • Haul trailers shall be in good condition and water-tight. Trailers shall meet all federal US. DOT and VDOT requirements. Newer model, crank-style covered trailers are preferred. • The Contractor shall verify the adequacy ofthe tarp prior to leaving the site. • If the tarping system is inadequate and excessive litter is blown out of the trailers and onto roads within the County, the Contractor will be responsible for cleanup ofthe roads. It is the Contractor's responsibility to cover and uncover trailers. • All insurance requirements are to be borne by the Contractor. If the hauling operations are subcontracted, then the subcontractor shall meet the same insurance and bonding requirements.
