Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Pipes shall be joined with a gasket integral bell & spigot: Bell and spigot joints with a factory‐installed gasket on the spigot (elastomeric seal per ASTM F477) shall meet the watertight requirements of ASTM D3212 (laboratory pressure tested at 10.8 psi). Gaskets shall be installed by the pipe manufacturer and covered with a removal, protective wrap to ensure the gaskets are free from debris. 2. Joint Lubricant: Joint Lubricant shall be used on the gasket and bell during assembly and included in the shipment of pipe from the manufacturer. Cost shall be inclusive of the linear feet ofpipe. 3. Quality Control: In accordance with the VDOT Road and Bridge Standards, section 232.02, polyethylene pipe shall only be supplied from manufacturers having an approved quality control plan on file with VDOT. 4. Road and Bridge Specifications: All pipe will be inspected by VDOT and shall conform to Sections 232 and 302 of VDOT’s Road and Bridge Specifications, dated 2016 or latest edition. All pipes shall be Polypropylene (PP).
