Specifications include, but are not limited to: Maintenance projects shall be primarily ditching operations but may also include, but are not limited to; Grading non-paved roadways, raising of grades to alleviate roadway drainage problems (low shoulder work), widening of fill slopes and shoulders, excavation and repair of soft spots in non-paved roadways, drainage work resulting from flooding and storm damage. i. Gradall Description: Gradall models offered shall be equivalent to or newer than a model XL4100 (or equivalent). Gradall shall be a minimum of 150 horsepower and have for each piece of equipment offered a 36” or 42” digging bucket, a 60” grading bucket and a fixed thumb grapple attachment if requested by the VDOT Engineer for debris cleanup. ii. Transport: All rubber tire Gradalls utilized under this contract shall have the capacity to be driven from job site to jobs site at highway speeds without the use of a truck or lowboy trailer for transportation. iii. Condition: All Gradalls shall be in good mechanical condition and shall meet all State and local requirements for inspection and safety. The Contractor’s equipment shall meet OSHA and VOSH standards, which include vehicular back-up alarms and flashing lights.
