Specifications include, but are not limited to: Participating in this Rest Area program, will gain your business exposure to millions of people traveling and commuting in Virginia each year through valuable interstate signage located on the Commonwealth's major Interstate highway system and at rest areas. New Easy Auction and Bidding Process and a New “Buy It Now” option Bid on each individual rest area! No more expensive “Corridor packages”! Each of the 40 Rest Area packages starting bid is for a 12-month contract and includes: • Valuable “Sponsored by” interstate signage preceding the rest area entrance, giving your brand exposure to millions of impressions annually • “Sponsored by” signage located at the Safety Rest Area site • Access to advertise in up to three additional on-site locations * Auctions open each Wednesday Morning and close every Tuesday at 4PM EST until all Rest Area locations are sponsored! 1. Within 5 days of winning the auction for items in Attachment A for the identified SRAs, the Sponsor will submit to VDOT its proposed sample images of the items in Attachment A. All of the items in Attachment A must comply with the Standards contained in Attachment B which is incorporated into these Terms and Conditions and with Federal Highway Administration (“FHWA”) and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (“MUTCD”) guidance and requirements. The proposed logo for sponsorship signage contained in Attachment A, Subsection 1, must be the principal trademarked official logo that represents the corporate name of the Sponsor and the Sponsor must also submit a statement of proof that the logo is the principal trademarked official logo that represents the Sponsor. 2. All proposed sponsorship acknowledgement signage that is to be placed on the Interstate right-of-way for each SRA listed in Attachment A, must first be submitted to FHWA by VDOT for review and approval. The proposed signage submittal must include the dimensions of the signage, image dimensions, layout example and meet all MUTCD requirements. FHWA approval must be obtained before the signage can be installed. All other sponsorship acknowledgement items listed in Attachment A, Section 1 must also be reviewed and approved by FHWA and VDOT prior to installation. 3. All other sponsorship acknowledgement items listed in Attachment A, Subsection 2,shall be reviewed and approved solely by VDOT. 4. All sponsorship acknowledgement items shall contain the language “Sponsored By” above Sponsor’s name/logo. 5. The sample image must be submitted in one of the following formats: TIF, GIF, JPEG, DOCX and/or PDF. 6. Within 5 days of receipt of the sample images of the items in Attachment A, VDOT will either approve it and send it to FHWA for review if necessary or reject the signage.
