Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. All items furnished under this agreement shall be new and first quality. b. Bidders are invited to attend the pre-bid conference to examine sample uniforms currently in use, discuss bid, and ask questions. See information above. c. Vendor must have available, when required, qualified personnel to measure and fit uniforms and a trained tailor to fit and alter uniforms. d. Vendor will send qualified personnel to the City to measure employees for proper sizes for each new recruit firefighter as needed. (Note: We typically hire multiple personnel 2-3 times per year) e. If needed and when called upon, the contractor is required to have a representative available to the Division within 48 hours. f. Vendor shall be required to remove old department emblems and chevron from uniforms and sew on new ones when necessary. g. Vendor shall accomplish alterations on all orders as required. The bid price of all new purchases are to include alterations, attachments, hemming and sewing. h. The vendor shall add sleeve braids to new or existing utility jackets and dress blouses or garments at no charge and install the stripe specified. Also replace on existing rank identification as promotions are made within the Division ( The City of Hampton will furnish all emblems) i. When requested, the vendor shall cut sleeves on long sleeve shirts, both existing and new, to summer short sleeve length. j. All alterations on existing or new wearing apparel are to be performed and delivered within ten (10) business days. k. All female apparel shall be cut on a ladies uniform pattern, Male uniforms or patterns altered to females will not be accepted. l. A listing of all “in stock” items are to be maintained at 30% by the vendor and available to the City upon request.
