Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Project consists of the replacement of the existing fire alarm system in the school in its entirety. The new system shall be fully installed, tested, and accepted prior to the demolition of the existing system. Once fully accepted and signed off on by the City, the existing system shall be demolished and existing walls and ceilings returned to their original conditions. All work to be completed in accordance with the drawings and specifications. For certain devices, such as pull stations, the contractor may re‐use existing conduit provided that the stations are mounted at the proper height (42” to 48” above the finished floor) provided a plan is presented prior to installation that ensures fire alarm protection is not compromised throughout the course of the project. The installation of the system shall be complete turnkey, to include but not be limited to the provision of the fire alarm system, the electrical circuits from the existing electrical system, the provision and installation of new fire alarm cabling and cable support (conduit where necessary), installation of all new devices, including duct smoke detectors with properly sized sampling tubes.
