Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this solicitation is to establish a term contract(s) for the purchase of new commercial grade laundry equipment to include routine repair service and quarterly preventative maintenance to new and existing equipment for all departments and activities of the County of Fairfax. Quarterly preventative maintenance shall include replacement of all parts and furnishing all labor for maintenance necessary to keep the equipment in good operating condition. All replacement parts shall be covered by the Contractor. Replacement parts will be furnished on an exchange basis. Genuine manufacturer replacement parts shall be used exclusively, unless a letter of exception is approved by the manufacturer and the County. All parts removed due to replacement become the property of the Contractor. The following are minimum preventative maintenance requirements for commercial laundry equipment: a. Dryers – Remove lint filter and vacuum air duct, check for uniform blue flame (if applicable to unit being serviced), check machine component functions by operating dryer through short cycle, check belt tension, examine vents for lint buildup, check vent lines, check behind and underneath unit, move dryer away from wall, wipe wall and floor with damp cloth, check mounting hardware for any loose nuts, bolts, or screws, check all painted surfaces (if metal if bare touch up with porcelain paint), and clean, dry, and lubricate coin crop/slide, if applicable to unit. b. Washers – Clean and/or replace water filter inlet screens, remove dirt and soap buildup inside the drum, check inlet and outlet hoses, connection, and joints for leaks or sediment buildup, open and close, the open the main water shutoff valve that leads into the back of the unit, check belts for fraying, splitting, or other damage, and replace if necessary, wipe down gasket between the door and the drum, and clean the soap dispensers.
