Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purchase of Public Relations Services for Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitor’s Bureau. We are looking for a PR Agency to provide us with a media strategic plan and associated counsel that is designed to address the negative tone of national and international media coverage of Charlottesville in the wake of these tragic events. The Executive Board of the CACVB considers this a turnaround situation, and as such we are looking for a PR Agency that will take a very proactive approach, and specifically: • Develop key messaging as part of a media strategic plan that promotes a more positive image for travel & tourism to Charlottesville while leveraging both earned media and content marketing channels; • Provide specific advice and execution around engaging national journalists in an honest, inclusive view of Charlottesville; • Collaborate with stakeholders in our community, including communication professionals in the City, County, University and local businesses, and develop a shared set of key messages for our community’s political, tourism and business leaders; • Review talking points and frame a narrative that communicates that we are safe, open for business, and working on the challenges we face as a community; • Provide targeted counsel around our specific challenges and ongoing risks by working proactively. We have challenges akin to crisis communications.
