Specifications include, but are not limited to: Conducting biographical research on the namesakes of 14 Albemarle School Board Schools. The contractor shall: A. Facilitate a start-up meeting to introduce participants, review scope, schedule, approach and deliverables. The contractor shall prepare the agenda and produce minutes from the meeting. B. While work is underway, maintain close communication with ACPS representatives to ensure methodology is appropriate and relevant to the School Division’s desired outcome. C. Provide labor and all resources to conduct research on the 16 namesakes utilizing best practices of public history and consulting historian labor as recommended by professional organizations such as the National Council of Public History. (NCPH) or the Organization of American Historians (OAH). Sources may include but not be limited to Jefferson School African American Heritage Center, Library of Virginia, University of Virginia, Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society, School Board and city courthouses, Jefferson-Madison Regional Library, ACPS records, family records, digital resources, and oral interviews.
