Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contractor shall provide annual pre-exam, exam, and reporting services for approximately 380 ACFD staff and retirees within 5 years of retirement. All medical examinations and consultations shall be conducted by a Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA) or Medical Doctor (MD) licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Minimum annual physical tests and exams are included in Appendix A. A. Physical Requirements 1. Conduct a pre-exam that includes bloodwork, nuclear tests, and ultrasound (can be done the same day as in-person medical evaluation) completed prior to the physical exam appointment. The results shall be available for the in-person medical evaluation. 2. Conduct an in-person medical physical exam that includes a medical history, exposure, and behavioral health histories; physical examination; urinalysis; vision tests; audiograms; spirometry; ECG; and cancer screening. 3. All pre-exam and exam elements shall be completed with the minimum number of appointments. 4. Recommend new advanced technology or screening methods that become industry common practice for pre-exams and exams, which may be added to the contract via amendment. B. Medical Consultation 1. Review bloodwork and nuclear test results with each employee during the in-person physical exam. 2. Review each employee’s physical exam results at the conclusion of the physical exam. C. Reporting 1. At the conclusion of the physical exam, provide to the employee an electronic or print copy of the report outlining the results, including pass or not pass, of the physical exam and results from pre-exam testing. Any follow-up recommendations from the ultrasound exam shall include providing a picture or video to the employee to follow up with either a Contractor physician, if work-related, or a personal physician, if not work related. If the need for follow-up is deemed work-related, ACFD and Worker’s Compensation will assist in scheduling follow-up appointments. If the need for follow-up is deemed a personal issue, the employee will be advised to contact their own physician. 2. Share all physical exam results, either printed or electronic, with the Arlington County Occupational Health Department at the end of each week. 3.
