Specifications include, but are not limited to: . The contractor shall be responsible for masonry repointing of approximately 2,000 SF of granite masonry. 2. The contractor shall protect the existing finishes from damage. The contractor shall be responsible for taking care, not to destroy the historic integrity of this historic structure and its exterior finishes. Careless damage to these finishes shall not be tolerated. 3. Repointing shall include from the roof edge to 4” below ground level as shown in the construction document, adjacent windows, granite windowsill, jambs, pediment/ headers and all eave detailing on the South Facade- East End shall be included in this scope of work. 4. Preserve and protect the existing walls finishes during work. The contractor shall conserve all intact finishes and protect these surfaces from damage through the work process. 5. The contractor shall verify that all existing exterior masonry is stable prior to repointing. 6. The contractor shall carry an allowance of $5,000 for repairing masonry as required. Contractor shall repair masonry as required and approved by Owner. 7. Repointing and clean washing of all masonry restoration work is required on all work surfaces. 8. Contractor shall restorative mortar to match existing mortar color and joint detailing on the North Center Elevation at the back of the 1858 State House. 9. Contractor shall protect all existing windows from damage. 10. Contractor shall keep emergency egress access available during the project. 11. The contractor shall provide temporary power to the job site from 10/28 to 11/15 (the anticipated three weeks that the State House power will be shut down), if required for work. 12. Contractor shall be required to clean-up daily before leaving site.
