Specifications include, but are not limited to: Vermont Project AWARE is a joint effort between the Agency of Education (AOE) and the Agency of Human Services, Department of Mental Health (AHS/DMH) and three communities to promote: on-going collaboration at the state and local level regarding best practices to increase awareness of mental health issues; enhance wellness and resiliency skills for school age youth; and support system improvements for school based mental health services. The project will establish planning teams with each of three LEAs and their Designated Mental Health Agency (DA) partner. Target communities include: Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union, partnering with Lamoille County Mental Health; Addison Rutland Supervisory Union and Greater Rutland County Supervisory Union, who will both partner with Rutland County Mental Health Services. 1. The ability to provide training for Interconnected Systems Framework training to LEA and DA staff. 2. Support LEA and DA staff in implementing Interconnected Systems Framework. 3. Increase awareness and identification of mental health issues (among families, LEA and DA staff) and to promote positive mental health for children who are at risk for or are experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges. 4. Ability to provide technical assistance annually to trainees to reinforce the content of the training. 5. Support each LEA’s development of infrastructure with school based and community based mental health systems 6. Support/Participate in the development of the school level Continuous Improvement Parent and Family Engagement Plans with the LEAs and DAs as needed. 7. Participate in events related to the roll out and periodic update meetings to provide feedback and data.
