Specifications include, but are not limited to: The UDWR will: Spend up to $9,600 annually for the triploid testing of trout during the period of March 2020 through February 2025. The number of fish submitted may vary annually depending on the UDWR’s fish stocking needs. Samples would arrive periodically throughout the year with the majority arriving February through August. Collect blood samples from trough and will provide all blood collection materials. Will collect blood using protocols recommended by the selected vendor. Ship blood samples via overnight mail inside insulated shipping containers that contain ice packs to keep the samples cool. Shipments will contain samples from lots of 60 fish. Lots will be identified and all microcentrifuge tubes from a single lot will be placed into a bag. Up to five lots will be delivered in a single shipment with separate bags for each lot. The UDWR will send blood from five to ten known diploid individuals with each shipment to provide the vendor controls for equipment calibration. Provide all collection equipment and pay for overnight sample shipment Provide the selected vendor at least 7 day notice prior to shipping samples The selected vendor will: Provide the UDWR documentation proof that the vendor has experience assessing triploidy in trout blood samples prior to establishing a contract. Use a flow cytometer to assess triploidy in the submitted samples on an individual fish basis. Submit to the UDWR a report (email OK) documenting the number of fish within each lot that is triploid within one week of receiving the samples. Provide the UDWR cost estimates on a price per fish tested basis Project Deliverables The selected vendor will submit a report (email OK) to the DWR within one week of receiving samples that documents the number of triploid samples within each submitted lot. Prioritizing Bids and Awarding Contracts Vendors meeting mandatory minimum requirements will have bids prioritized on lowest cost-per-fish tested basis.
