Specifications include, but are not limited to: Flexible Repair Mastic Material – Flexible repair mastic shall be a pre-proportioned and pre-packaged mixture of binder and aggregate. When heated in an appropriate mastic melter to the recommended application temperature, the mastic material shall exhibit sufficiently low viscosity and workability to readily flor into and repair: 1. Wide cracks and joints 2. Pavement depressions 3. Pavement breaks and holes. Finished installed mastic product shall result in an acceptable smooth riding surface. Installed mastic shall be flexible and not deform under summer traffic conditions. The repair mastic material shall contain wear resistant granite aggregate representing at least 75 % by weight of the total aggregate. The weight per cubic foot of the installed flexible repair mastic material shall be 103- 120 pound per cubic foot. - Binders must meet the requirements of ASTM D 5329, 36, and 5167. - The structural aggregate potion of the repair mastic shall contain at least 75% granite by weight and shall be resistant to abrasion and impact.
