The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) – Traffic Management Division (TMD) operates the statewide traffic signal and ramp metering systems. These systems operate using traffic control computers and other electronic equipment housed in industry standard equipment cabinets. Access to these cabinets is currently via a hard key and lock system. The standard lock is a Corbin tumbler lock number 1548-1 or equivalent. In an effort to tighten security to these electronic traffic control systems, the TMD is considering changing to an electronic cylinder lock system to control access to these cabinets. The TMD requires access to various cabinets including but not limited to NEMA TS-2 Type 1 Size 5, NEMA TS-2 Type 1 Size 6, Caltrans Type 334C and 336.
