Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project will assess soil conditions along the shoreline of Utah Lake. It is our intent to conduct assessments along the entire ~75 miles of shoreline. Proposals should include a literature review for any existing data applicable to the assessment. A minimum of two soil samples should be taken every mile, along the compromise elevation of the lake and at current water levels. Field technicians will make every effort to pull samples from below any bio-mass (mats of Phragmites is present along much of the shoreline) present at the test sites as to avoid misdiagnosis of native soils/sands. Proposed approaches should include special equipment, labor, maintenance, or other expenses. Finally, the data from the assessment should be compiled into an easy to interpret document or story map, accompanied by geo-referenced files of sampling locations and any other relevant information.
