Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Opportunity Zone (OZ) Program intends to spur long-term investments in low-income census tracts in the U.S. The new law allows investors to place unrealized capital gains from the sale of an asset into Opportunity Funds that invest capital into designated OZs. The greatest tax benefits would go to investors who invest for 10 or more years. As the OZ program moves from idea to implementation, local communities are playing an important role in implementing a dialogue to bring capital to areas of greatest need. • Reports on a regular schedule outlining outreach plan and deliverables associated with the plan • Must work with the Kem C. Gardner Institute to build a comprehensive inventory of local projects ● Engagement with rural communities that house OZ designations ● Provide OZ branding marketing strategies to potential investors ● Develop unique platforms and strategic techniques to support OZ economic development projects o Engagement with GOED Marketing and Communications team ● Investor contact information sheet for rural communities ● Participate in Association of Governments regional meetings and communication • Must work with the federal OZ program in outreach, communication, and promotion
