Specifications include, but are not limited to: a) All eligible Operators must own eight (8) standard duty, one-ton wreckers with 5,000 pounds minimum hauling capacity. 1) All wreckers shall be equipped with a tow bar, towing dollies, safety chains, slings, a broom and shovel, ax, pry bar, a fire extinguisher, gasoline (2 gallon minimum), except that (a) towing dollies are not required on medium/heavy duty wreckers, and (b) towing dollies, tow bars, and wheel-lift systems are not required on tilt bed/roll back carriers or lowboy units. 2) Each wrecker winch shall have a minimum 4-ton lifting capacity. 3) Each wrecker must be equipped with two-way communications equipment (provided by Operator) that will allow the transmission and receipt of communications between the Operator and the Authority. 4) Sufficient absorbent material to assist with the absorption and clean-up of spills. b) All eligible Operators must own either one 50-Ton Recovery Truck OR one 40-Ton Rotator with the following requirements: 50-Ton Recovery Truck Hydraulic extendable, fixed boom, ultra-heavy duty Recovery Truck. A boom structural rating (TEMA or SAE) of 100,000 lbs. A minimum of two planetary or worm drive winches with a minimum of 200 ft. of 3/4” wire rope each. The boom shall extend a minimum of 150” beyond the tailgate (level). The boom shall elevate to a working height of 21 ft. (@ 30 degrees) at a minimum. The truck chassis shall be a minimum of 62,000 lbs. GVW. The unit shall be equipped with a hydraulic, extendable under reach tow unit with a capacity of 50,000 lbs.(Retracted)
