Specifications include, but are not limited to: Supplier shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, tools and consumables to complete and document inspection of submerged concrete sections of the Wirtz Dam tainter gate pier and spillway ogee crest structures. The prescribed inspections shall be performed on the upstream portions of Gates 1 and 5 (as numbered from left to right when looking in the upstream direction) with a maximum dive depth of 30-ft. Work shall include installation of gate seal seepage and leak controls as necessary to complete the dive inspections as described here in. Use of leak control measures beyond stuffing of rags and corn filled burlap sacks must be approved by Owner prior to use. Inspection of the concrete gate pier and spillway structures shall be recorded and documented. The inspection shall be comprised of the following tasks: Visual inspection of submerged concrete members sufficient to identify areas of misalignment and signs concrete deterioration including pop outs, areas of scour, delamination, and severe cracking. Visual inspection sufficient to identify signs of soil scour upstream of the concrete structures including areas of depression, void, and any other topographic irregularities. Acoustic impact testing (i.e. hammer sounding) shall be performed on submerged portions of the identified gate pier and spillway crest concrete sections sufficient to detect areas of possible delamination and unsound concrete. The following items shall be provided after completion of the inspections: An electronic copy of video with audio recordings documenting conditions discovered during the inspection. A written report in electronic format summarizing the conditions discovered along with sketches or marked up drawings detailing the specific location and deficiencies identified during the inspections.
