Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Texas Historical Commission seeks a firm that is capable of designing and constructing a new Visitor Center Complex for the Levi Jordan Plantation State Historic Site. Respondent must provide documentation of a MINIMUM of eight (8) years’ experience in Design/Build project delivery method similar to the type of work required by these Contract Documents (as judged by THC) to be eligible for contract award. Preference will be given to respondents who have completed similar projects. The Project includes site preparation, site utilities, road construction, new building construction, and a porch addition to an existing historic building. The new building construction includes a new slab-on-grade, pre-engineered metal building for office/storage use, and two wood frame buildings over pier and beam foundation -one to serve as a dormitory and one to serve as a single-family residence. All three of these buildings are to be provided fully furnished. The porch addition will be added to the 1856 Plantation House, will and utilize historically accurate materials supplemented with concealed windstorm reinforcement.
