Specifications include, but are not limited to: The vehicle shall be able to tamp/stabilize up to 2,800 ft. per hour. ; (a) Main Frame section shall consist of a heavy-duty construction, utilizing thick walled, rectangular steel tubing, channel, and plate. (b) Lifting and tie down eyes shall be welded to the main frame and the satellite frame. (c) Satellite Frame shall be completely refurbished and warrantied as new. (d) The Rail Clamp Assembly, Auxiliary Lift Units, Axles/Gearboxes, etc., will be assembled with refurbished components which are also warrantied as new. (e) The machine will be equipped with new Tamping Units. All electrical cables, junction boxes, hydraulic hoses and pneumatic hoses will be new. (f) The Satellite Frame is a separate framework, and must be a truss design, with all track lifting, cross-leveling, and lining functions performed between the axles. (g) The Satellite Frame and will be completely refurbished and warrantied as new. (h) Built-in derailment protection is provided. (i) Air operated fail-safe brake system. ; (a) The machine shall utilize four, 28” diameter, heavy-duty, railroad type wheel assemblies, with two assemblies supporting the main frame and two assemblies supporting the satellite. (b) The axles shall be 7” diameter solid steel with heavy duty roller bearings and bearing blocks on each end, including rubber/metal springs and shock absorbers in the main frame.; Power shall be provided by a turbo-charged, liquid cooled, Caterpillar C-15 DIT ACERT diesel engine to meet TIER IV Final requirements.
