Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Austin Independent School District (AISD) is seeking proposals from qualified sources to serve as the Lead Partnering Entity to manage a campus and create a successful and sustainable academic program and high performance environment at Mendez Middle School (Mendez), thus helping to improve campus performance. This Lead Partnering Entity will enter into a multi-year relationship with AISD and will work with the central office of AISD and with Mendez staff to meet state accountability standards and management of the campus. Any selected proposal will be subject to a performance contract with the district holding the partnering entity accountable for increasing and sustaining student performance as well as engaging the parents, community and staff of Mendez. The performance contract will reflect the partnering entity’s commitment to perform on a level better than “Similar Students” at the same grade level configuration on the applicable Texas Education Agency (TEA) Accountability system measures as part of the state accountability system and as outlined in a performance contract to be developed following selection. “Similar Students” shall mean students across the district in the following accountability subgroups: All, African-American, White, Hispanic, Economically Disadvantaged, Limited English Proficiency, Special Education, or other as may be established by TEA in the future at a campus with similar demographics and grade level as students.
