Specifications include, but are not limited to: ON-SITE SECURITY SERVICE: Security guards working on TxDOT property shall: 9.4.1. Ensure all personnel at TxDOT facilities are in possession of and display an approved TxDOT building access badge and that unauthorized personnel are not permitted on TxDOT grounds and in facilities at any time. Individuals not displaying the proper building access badge shall be screened for approval for building entry, follow sign-in procedures, and issued an approved TxDOT visitor badge. 9.4.2. Assume responsibility for the building access badges and shall immediately contact the designated TxDOT representative when a building access badge has been lost or damaged. 9.4.3. Contact appropriate TxDOT personnel when incoming mail, fax, or carrier delivery is received at the security guard post and not accept it on behalf of the division personnel. TxDOT personnel will be responsible for receipt of such material. 9.4.4. Randomly check all boxes and containers taken out of the building to ensure state property is not removed by unauthorized personnel. 9.5. SOC SECURITY SERVICE: Security guards working in TxDOT’S SOC shall 9.5.1. Use CCTV to monitor exterior doors, building perimeters and sensitive building areas, acknowledge and resolve all alarms, monitor badge activities, monitor and verify access, and provide momentary door unlocks and access to card-reader doors and vehicle gates. 9.5.2. Provide interface during critical and non-critical emergency events from report to resolution in addition to constant information updates wherever applicable in an effort to ensure situation, events, incidents are resolved in an appropriate manner. 9.5.3. Guide and assist all TxDOT and vendor personnel, as well as vistors, clients during emergency and non-emergency situations. 9.5.4. Ensure the appropriate use of applied emergency notification lists and other contact lists as directed by procedure and notify SOC Supervisor if information requires updating.
