Specifications include, but are not limited to: •Design and deliver innovative investigative education and training that complies with the scientific method, scientific literature, and current standard of care in the field of fire investigation. •Participate on the Science Advisory Workgroup. •Provide guidance in the review, drafting, and implementation of protocols, briefing documents, and performance management benchmarks. •Advise on budgeting assets to ensure that implementation of new protocols is efficient, cost-effective, and that best practices are implemented. •Participate at briefings of the Texas Forensic Science Commission, on request by the State Fire Marshal. •Participate as an expert peer reviewer and provide guidance in complex investigations. •Provide instruction in the production of expert witness affidavits and courtroom testimony in support of complex fire and arson investigation cases.
