Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University provides transportation to patients and up to one (1) escort per patient to appointments at the UT Health MD Anderson Mays Cancer Center (Mays Cancer Center) if the patient is financially unable to secure transportation and/or does not have anyone to provide transportation to their appointments. Patients can be ambulatory, wheelchair bound or utilize other assisted ambulating devices. 5.5 Size and Volume Between September 1, 2018 through August 31, 2019 the Mays Cancer Center facilitated transportation for 557 round trips and 59 one way trips for patients who reside within Loop 1604 and on occasion outside Loop 1604 within ten (10) miles. The Mays Cancer Center provides treatment Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Central Standard Time. 5.6 Transportation Requirements 5.6.1 Proposer to provide transportation services to individuals receiving active treatment with the Mays Cancer Center. Transportation requests will be submitted by University personnel, or other subcontractors that are collaboratively implementing this program. 5.6.2 Proposer will accept cancelations, up to two (2) hours in advance, for trips previously scheduled without penalty. Cancelations may be requested by either University personnel, its subcontractors implementing this program, or the participant.
